Grading
Grading in this course is on a total point basis. These points are acquired through a midterm exam, project and a comprehensive final exam. Midterm exam and final exam dates are July 24, 2008 and August 12, 2008, respectively. Course grade is based on 30 % midterm exam, 30 % Project, and 40 % final exam. A minimum of 60 % of the total points possible must be achieved in order to satisfactorily complete the course.
The following scale will be used for overall grading*.

Introduction, Linear algebra, Basic principles of experimental design, Simple comparative experiments, Experiment with single factors, The Analysis of variance, Introduction to factorial design, Two and three level factorial designs, Fractional factorial designs, Placket Burman Design, Response surface methods, Central composite Design, Mixture design, Calibration design, Optimization.
Attendance
Attendance is required to all classes. If you fail to attend more than your allowable limit without a valid reason (around 15 to 20 % of all class meeting) you will get an FF grade for the course no matter what the scores you get from the exams. If you are sick and can not come to the school, you must obtain a doctor’s excuse from university health center. You should also be on time for the class meetings.
