‘History of Urbanism’ examines the history of built environment and planning in relation to the philosophical, social, economic, political, and technological context of the time period studied. This course aims, through lectures and readings, to examine the fundamental trends in urban planning during 19th and 20th century to show the students where we are and where have been in the field of urban planning. It also aims to discuss foresights about the new trends and future developments for the cities of 21st century.
