COURSE CONTENT

The design project will be evaluated and followed by presentations, and the project competition at the end of the semester. All students have to attend the presentations. The details about the presentations and competition will be announced at CMS. The schedule of the presentations:

·         2nd Week, March 6, Friday 9:30, Room: A1

·         5th Week, March 27, Friday 9:30, Room: A1

·         8th Week, April 17, Friday 9:30, Room: A1

·         12th Week, May 8, Friday 9:30, Room: A1

·         14th Week, May 22, Friday 9:30, Room: A1

Also there will be seminars regarding work environment and worker health; engineering work related law issues and patents; environmental issues and engineering. The students will be responsible for the contents of these seminars in the midterm examination (closed books and notes).

EXAMINATIONS

Examination dates, hours and rooms will be announced by the department. Make-up examinations are offered only for the students who have a valid excuse approved by the department.

GRADING

·      Presentations during the semester: 25% (Graded as a group)

·      Midterm Examination:                    15% (Graded individually)

·      Project Examination:                       60% (Graded as a group)

(Project presentation 10%; Project report 20%; Project demo performance 30%)

ACADEMIC ETHICS

All written submissions must reflect purely independent and individual efforts. All reference material (books, scientific papers, web sites, etc.) in these submissions should be properly cited. Academic dishonesty, including any form of cheating will not be tolerated and may result in failure of the course and/or formal disciplinary proceedings that may lead to suspension or dismissal. Cheating includes but is not limited to such acts as offering or receiving unpermitted assistance in the exams, using any type of unauthorized written material during the exams, handing in any part or all of someone else’s work as your own, copying from an internet source. Plagiarism is a specific form of cheating. It means using someone else’s work without giving credit and it is a form of literary theft.
